This is a copy of another stool in the market. Although it says it is stainless steel, it appears that only the base of the stool is. The other metal parts are chromed and not plolished stainless steel. These are about half the cost of the ones I saw but like I said not 100% stainless steel. I love the design and the fact that these swivel, the original more expensive ones do not swivel. Very heavy and sturdy and come fully assembled. As far as comfort the seat is nice but the backrest is set way to low,I am 5' 10'', perhaps a shorter person will find comfortable. For the cost I think it is a good value although the product description should state what part of the chair is stainless steel andwhat is not. You get what you pay for I guess.
Still I would recommend if your needs do not call for 100% stainless. Very modern and a great conversation piece.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
